The German-Egyptian Scientific Research Fund supports joint innovative projects

The German Ministry of Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with Science and Technology Development Fund in Egypt announced their support to the innovative research projects in the field of applied research, and this is through the German Egyptian Scientific Fund.

Grant measures are divided into two phases, and deadline to submit the reasarch proposals for the first phase is 14 September 2012.

The German Egyptian Scientific Fund was established in 2007, where it announced its establishment during the closing ceremony of " The German Egyptian Science and Technology year" in Berlin. The fund aims to support joint applied research projects, and give scientists the opportunity to research new areas that is of interest  to both parties in order to transfer the research results reached by the scientists for practical application.

Participating researchers from Egypt should submit their proposals to the Science and Technology Development Fund affiliated to the Ministry of Scientific Research, whereas the German participants should head to the International Office of the German Ministry of Education and Scientific Research.

Applicants should focus on the below topics:

- Food Security

- Climate Change

- Water

- Renewable Energy

- Urban Planning

- Traffic and Transport

- Humanities and Social Sciences

Participation is open to Egyptian-German research teams who work in Egyptian-German institutions, in Governmental or Private Universities, SMEs, Non-Governmental Organizations and Civil Society Organizations.
