The German- Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce along with the Arab Contractors have signed an MOU to train one thousand workers.
The Arab Contractors represented by the Construction Engineering and Administration Institute received a grant from the German Embassy in Cairo through the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce to support vocational education and training.
The Arab Contractors have explained that this grant helps in the development in many ways, by modernizing the Institute’s’ workshops in Gesr El Suez as well as the Institute’s electrical and mechanical workshops in Shubra in terms of equipment and machinery as well as supporting Nasr City vocational school that is supervised by the Arab Contractors.
In addition to that, training the trainer sessions will be held to a number of engineers and supervisors (around 30) in Germany according to the German standards, yet taking into account the local requirements so as the trainers could then train the workers.
The Arab Contractors aims to train 1000 workers at the first stage in the coming year and this is to serve their major projects in Egypt and abroad. Moreover, training a number of engineers on sustainable development and environment in Germany.
Furthermore, the Construction Engineering and Administration Institute focuses on training the workers on specialized training programs to meet the needs of the domestic, Arab, and African market. This grant will last for two years and will end in 2013.
