The ENPI CBC EU funded MedDiet project is pleased to announce the launch of its website www.med-diet.eu. The site offers an ample of facts on Mediterranean Diet, its basics and benefits as well as information on the MedDiet project and its activities.
Visitors to the website also gain access to the MedDiet Knowledge System and Digital Library, as well as gathering facts.
The project is implemented under the ENPI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme, and is financed, for an amount of EUR 4,49 million by the European Union through the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument.
The Confederation of Egyptian European Business Associations (CEEBA) is the official Egyptian partner and coordinator of all activities for the project in Egypt.
MedDiet aims at increasing the awareness of consumers (in particular young people and children, who are exposed to the risk of losing healthy Mediterranean eating habits) and of SMEs (in particular restaurants) about the benefits of the Mediterranean Diet by reinforcing the capacity of schools, local authorities, chambers of commerce/ business organizations and policy making institutions to implement effective and sustainable initiatives for safeguarding Mediterranean Diet in Egypt, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Spain and Tunisia.
