15 billion pounds secured for the production of Solar Energy in the South Valley

Dr. Nadia El Zakhary, Minister of Scientific Research announced the supervision of the ministry on a Solar Energy Project in the South Valley with a total cost of 15 billion pounds financed by Egyptian businessmen and international banks to produce solar energy which helps in providing clean energy in Egypt.

Dr. Zakhary added during the Second Scientific Research Applications conference held on Sunday that communication and partnership between investors, businessmen and industry on one hand and scientists and researchers on the other hand is crucial for the development of the industry and in order to take advantage of the scientific research applications, especially in developing countries.

Hassan Rateb, Chairman of the board of trustees in the University of Sinai, who holds the presidency of the project stated that the production of solar energy became essential to take advantage of, especially in light of the abundant sunshine in the South Valley region, pointing out that the first phase of the project aims to produce 60 GB, expected to increase to 200 GB in the second phase.
