On the 14th of November 2012 the high-level EU-Egypt Task Force met and jointly agreed upon a mutual acknowledgement and cooperation. The object of the agreement was described in a precise manner, with the intent to strengthen EU-Egyptian Business Cooperation.
The Egyptian Prime H.E. Minister Hesham Qandil and H.E. Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy as Antonio Tajani, EU Commissioner for Industry and Entrepreneurship, all credited the valuable benefits of an intensive partnership in business.
Common objectives were to strengthen bilateral trade relations, to boost investment in Egypt, to foster SME’s and to support a stable strategy in a changing business climate. All parties agreed upon the implementation of a strategic action plan.
Both sides were clear about certain key issues that need to be addressed first.
